This gorgeous beast is the result of a most creative program of recycling the rubber thongs which are a serious  pollution problem in Kenya.
The rubber footwear floats across thousand of miles of ocean and washes up on the beaches of Africa. They are collected, formed into blocks and carved to produce these brilliantly appealing animals.
These brilliant handmade multi coloured creations helps to preserve the beauty and wonder of the natural world while providing employment opportunities to this inspired community half a world away
