Clean Up Australia Day

Clean Up Australia Day is a simple way you can take action to clean up, fix up and conserve our prized Australian environment.
In 2012 an estimated 591,400 volunteers cleaned up 16,169 tonnes at 7,363 sites right across Australia. But we can do better! So be a good sport and join the team to Clean Up Australia on Sunday, 3 March 2013.
Key dates for Clean Up Australia Day 2013:
Community Clean Up Day: Sunday 3rd March 2013
Schools Clean Up Day: Friday 1st March 2013
Business Clean Up Day: Tuesday 26th February 2013
How to organise your Clean Up Site
Select a location (a.k.a. Clean Up "Site") in your local area that you think needs a Clean Up. Please liaise with your local council to advise them of your Clean Up event and regarding removal of rubbish collected. The council may be also able to assist you to identify a potential site. If you would like to conduct a Clean Up on private land, you will have to get the landholder's permission.
Register on our website by choosing Create a Clean Up Site. The information collected will only be used for the Clean Up Australia Campaign and will not be shared with other third parties. Unfortunately our website doesn't hold information on registrations from previous years, so even if you have taken part before, you will need to enter all your details to ensure your Site is fully registered.
Once you have registered, we will send you a Clean Up Kit containing everything which you need for your event (please note: delivery will commence in February 2013). For information on what the kit contains and further resources available see the Resource Centre.
Read your Site Guide for ideas on how to promote your Clean Up and how to prepare your event. Make sure that you also conduct a Site Inspection beforehand, implementing any risk controls.
Have fun on the day and don't forget to report back to Clean Up Australia on your Site activities (End of Clean Up Report, completed and signed Volunteer Registration Forms and Accident Incident Form - if applicable). Following your Clean Up, you can also send us your interesting stories and photos from the Day.
See our FAQs for further information about Clean Up Australia events.
Volunteer to Join an existing Site
The volunteers at each Clean Up Site are invaluable. If you would like to volunteer at a Site that is already registered on our website, please search in your local area here . You can either register online or on the day. The information collected will only be used for the Clean Up Australia Campaign and will not be shared with other third parties. Please view our Privacy Policy regarding registering for a Clean Up Site.
Donate to Clean Up Australia
A donation to Clean Up Australia will assist us to work with communities as we help them learn to live with the challenges that a changing climate will bring. We are ahead of the pack in our ability to mobilize hundreds of thousands of Australians to produce fundamental, positive change. But as we are not government funded, we rely on support from individuals and corporates.
Spread the word about your involvement in Clean Up Australia Day and fundraise for our organisation or if you can't make it out on Clean Up Australia Day, support your friends, family or colleagues in a different way. Donate to their Clean Up Site to make it the most successful fundraising Site in 2013.
