Handmade items come with a certain charm, with that irreplaceable personal touch of having been individually made rather than made by machines. I also love things that are unusual and come from different cultures Fair Trade products offer both of these qualities. They are handmade and they do come from many different countries around the globe. The range of Fair Trade products is extensive and the items often fascinating. A bag from Africa or a handmade toy from Sri Lanka is more than just a lovely object. They are very interesting because of the stories behind the products and because of the different ways in which they are made and the different designs they come in. Because of this I have a great love of fair-trade goods. They bring to us an impressive and unusual range of things that have been made skilfully by hand. I could tell you how much good fair trade products do for the artisans but I think you already know that. That of course is the most important part but there is more than that. Fair Trade products are unusual and unique, many of us are bored by mass produced products by ordinary and by disposable. It would be a richer and nicer world if more people saw the value in these items , for the people who make the products and for the joy that owning a beautiful and unique object brings
